What they are doing
Imaging, contrast/radiopharma, patient care. Stated strategy on the call and slides: 3D (Devices + Drugs + Digital, particularly AI). Heartbeat = internal OS. Real narrative. Not a franchise that is AI. Named SKUs: True Definition DL (CT upgrade, “nearly double resolution,” subscription); Air Recon DL (MR); Vivid Pioneer (AI that “drives higher pricing”); MIM at Essen. Bought icometrix (Alzheimer’s brain AI) and Intelear. Print: $5.3B, 3.5% organic, orders +11.1%. Arduin: new products still under 20% of orders. “AI-enabled” (G&A, agents) is hygiene. This name taught us not to treat “AI-enabled” as Weight 4. The 28 October 2026 call again tied AI on the Vivid cardiovascular platform to premium pricing and cited demand for AI-enabled CT. It did not give an attach rate or a subscription dollar. Vivid Pioneer remains on the FDA's AI-device list (K251169, 10 July 2025). The score stays 6.
Why the score
- Reach 2 not 3: named DL upgrades. Not a program with results across the chain.
- Weight 2 not 3: they still get paid for scanners. "AI-enabled" is not a needle.
- Proof 2 not 3: "nearly double resolution" is marketing. No attach or AI revenue.
What would move it next quarter: An attach rate or a subscription dollar for the AI software, or icometrix as its own line. Another premium-pricing sentence will not move this.
