What they are doing

Remitly's 2025 annual report says machine-learning fraud scoring and real-time payment authentication are deployed across its products and give the customer immediate feedback. The same filing says proprietary risk models, including machine learning, are how it manages fraud, and that those models keep fraud loss rates inside guardrails the company sets. It does not publish the rate. A separate AI marketing system is about acquiring customers, not about the payment decision.

Why the score

  • Reach 2 not 3: fraud scoring and authentication are one trust system. Marketing AI is not the payment.
  • Weight 3 not 2: the score sits in the payment decision. A rival remittance app without it has a weaker trust offer.
  • Weight 3 not 4: one system. Remittances are still the product.
  • Proof 3 not 4: deployed and in the loop. The guardrail is not a published loss rate.

What would move it next quarter: The fraud loss rate, tied to the model. A repeat of the guardrail sentence will not move this.
